Father's Day Gift Suggestions

Of all of my family members, the only one who makes gift giving difficult is my father. Hours of searching often result in faked enthusiasm and comments about wasting my money. Until recently that is, when I've been on a roll with great gifts. The absolute standout was definitely a pair of Ray Ban aviators like the ones my Dad had worn for years (and usually ended up losing...). After misplacing an impressively large number of pairs he had given up on real sunglasses and just worn the cheapie kind sold in vacation tourist traps which lets be honest, are not a good look. He must have turned over a new leaf because he has had these ones for over a year and a half. So until he ends up losing those I have to find a new gift. Here's what I'm leaning towards:

A Fred Perry zip up sweater. Yes, I know, a sweater for summer seems odd but any Chicagoan knows that many a night and day here end up far cooler than most would prefer.

This Theory jacket that I am OBSESSED with. Not only is it utterly classic, the sale price is an absolute steal for this type of quality.

A bottle of Stags' Leap cabernet. Who can turn down a nice bottle of wine? I am a huge fan of Stags' Leap because I think the value and taste of the wine are always far higher than the cost.

A new belt from Tod's. My father is a bit on the conservative side so high quality and low fuss are his style. The amazing quality of Tod's leather makes this a sure hit.

Now, a few suggestions for the younger, trendier dad:

Something special from Mark Nason. The high quality Italian leather will last forever.

A great pair of jeans. I'm partial to Joe's.

These AMAZING Tom Ford sunglasses. I've remained a loyal Tom Ford follower since his revitalization of Gucci. The man is an absolute genius. And fyi, ladies, the perfect gift for the younger man in your life (be it husband, boyfriend, or just the hot guy across the hall) Tom Ford's Black Orchid will have them at your feet. And after being such a good daughter why not get yourself a little treat?
